Client Session ~ Ralphy the American Staffordshire Terrier

I met Ralphy the four month old American Staffordshire Terrier and his Mum at our local dog beach for this photo session. Being a puppy and a staffy, this little pocket rocket was full of beans and eager to explore everything in sight.

Who can resist that staffy grin.

I think Ralphy must have been a lifeguard in his previous life. He loved it up in the dunes, looking over ‘his’ beach.

Ralphy to the rescue!

Or perhaps not.

Something a bit different.

The one on the left makes me laugh every time, it captures his personality so well.

Towards the end of the session he finally slowed down for a rest, frog legs and all.

Client Session ~ Spartacus the Dalmatian / Cattle Dog Mix

Spartacus is an interesting mix of Dalmatian and Cattle Dog and spends his days hanging out at my day job workplace, owned and loved by my boss. He’s a pretty special boy with many endearing traits. He has the biggest appetite I’ve seen and is a constant underfoot companion at our work lunches around the picnic tables, hassling his favourite suppliers for scraps of roast lamb with a well timed ‘woof’ and a melting look with those big brown eyes.

His toothy grin is a common site around the place.

He often much prefers the comfort of the plants and bushes which he ‘renovates’ to suit his needs, rather than his bed (but posed in it nicely for me regardless).

His best chameleon impersonation (gotta love those spots and blotches)…

Although this lovely smiley boy is most often friendly and companionable, he does have a serious side. There are signs outside that say ‘Beware of the Dog’ and they aren’t just for show! We have lots of visitors throughout the day and Spartacus has a finely tuned sixth sense about exactly who it is standing outside the front gate.

If it’s someone he knows or has been here before, he doesn’t even bat an eyelid. But if it’s someone new (or someone he’s decided he doesn’t like!) he barks and carries on like the best of them until his Mum reassures him they are safe. Who needs a Rottweiler or German Shepherd when you have the mighty Spartacus!

Client Session ~ Ellie and Luca the Standard Poodles

Ellie and Luca’s devoted parents contacted me wanting some pics of their beautiful pair of Standard Poodles to use for their new business promotional material – why wouldn’t you when you have this pair?

This was my first shoot since Kaya passed away and I was initially nervous, I wasn’t sure how I would handle photographing other people’s happy, healthy dogs so soon after losing my gorgeous girl. It all melted away though once I met the girls and their owners, despite them reminding me so much of the dynamics between my own two dogs.

Ellie was a rescue dog from a puppy mill, nursed back to health and vitality to be the energetic, somewhat ball-obsessed, dog that she is today. Although a little aloof at first, she warmed up to me and by the end of the session I was getting lovely cuddly head hugs.

Such an athletic girl, her feats with the tennis ball were amazing!

Luca, just like my Luna, is the little sister of the pair. At just over one year of age, she’s affectionate, playful and friendly, and just a little bit silly too.

She had these gorgeous fluffy sections on her legs that I just couldn’t get enough of…

Such a sweet girl.

When inside their house, the girls have a special window that they look out of where they can see the comings and goings of the whole backyard.

If you live in Brisbane, are planning a holiday and are just not sure what to do with your beloved pooches, give Sam at fetch. Pet Sitting a call. Going by how much these two are loved by their Mum and Dad, your pet is sure to be well looked after while you are away!

Client Session ~ Garvin and Blaise the Boxers

These two beautiful Boxers made a stunning pair and were so fun to work with. Garvin, the dark brindle boy, would do anything for food and they both pulled the most hilarious faces in true Boxer form.

The beautiful Blaise had been battling cancer and had recently had a few lumps removed. Despite this she looked great, you would never have guessed!

Unfortunately, Blaise lost her battle with cancer shortly after our photo session. I am so happy though that I managed to create some beautiful photos to remember her by for her loving owner.

Run free, beautiful girl.
