Client Session ~ Odin and Inara {black & white set}

While working on the black & white conversions of the shots of these guys, I was consistently delighted at how they were coming out! So delighted in fact that I’ve decided to create a blog post dedicated just to my favourite black & white images from this session. Their proper ‘story’ blog post will be coming soon in full colour, but in the meantime, please enjoy this set!

Client Session ~ Harley the Labrador Retriever

Harley is the second black Labrador Retriever I’ve photographed in the last few months. I love working with Labs as in my experience they are always friendly, happy and willing to please! Harley was no exception to this rule, what a lovely dog.

From the moment I arrived and he greeted me with a wagging tail and lots of enthusiasm, he was always there, willing to pose anywhere we asked and just happy hanging out and being the centre of attention.

He loves to camp out at his favourite spot on the deck, watching for visitors and waiting for his owners and other exciting new people to come up the stairs and say hello to him.

A well behaved boy, he also is happy to hang out in the front yard looking gorgeous.

By the end of the session, he’d completely mastered the ‘how cute am I? now just give me the treat!!’ look.

To finish up we moved to the back deck. I just loved how the blue rails worked in so well with his colouring.

Big paws!

Client Session ~ Dallas the Labrador Retriever

Now living in Brisbane but still loving the beautiful Gold Coast, Dallas and her Mum were more than happy to come back down the coast for a photo session and agreed to a very early morning shoot on the dog beach at the Spit. We were greeted with amazing light, perfect weather and blue skies, well worth the effort to get up so early!

Dallas the black Labrador is just one and a half, and already she and her Mum have a visible bond.

Wherever her Mum was, Dallas was sure to be found – well except when she was off meeting and greeting other dogs like your typical friendly Labrador!

Sometimes shooting into the light can be as rewarding as shooting with it, and the following couple of shots are no exception, probably my favourites from the session.

You just can’t beat the crisp clean feel of early morning light at the beach though.

I was warned that Dallas was ‘just a bit obsesssed’ with tennis balls, and she soon found one to bring to us, demanding a game.

Who could resist this look?

IMG_1212

As you can probably tell by the sand all over her nose, Dallas was justly rewarded for her patient modelling with lots of ball throwing.

What a beautiful, happy girl. We had such a fun morning, thanks guys!

Client Session ~ Chopper the Great Dane Labrador Mix

Chopper is the chilled out, mature big brother of Bozley and Giselle and yep, he’s a foster failure too, and it’s easy to see why! At seven years old he is starting to slow down a little, but still loves to get amongst the action every now and then.

Though given the opportunity (a lovely sunny front garden devoid of the annoying young ones) he quickly switched to lying in the sunshine, soaking up the rays.

img_4209

A big solid boy thanks to his Great Dane heritage, Chopper also has the look of a big cuddly overgrown Labrador Retriever.

Big brown eyes and an old grey face are a beautiful combination.

I couldn’t resist making a feature of his lovely head wrinkles too of course.
