Deluxe Session ~ Mister Jay Brown the Staffy Mix at Bribie Island

The brown dog snoozes on the couch. He lives a life of luxury now he’s retired, a far cry from the adventure and excitement of his past as he travelled Australia with his best mate.

Today though, fresh adventures await. After a ride in the car, he meets a new friend then spends a wonderful afternoon sampling the fresh scents of the bushland, then splashing in the waves as he chases his favourite rubber ducky across the sand.

The afternoon ends on a perfect note, as he wades through calm water and bathes in the orange glow of a stunning sunset that melds water and sky.

Exactly one year and one day ago, 13 year old Mister Jay Brown lost his beloved dad in a tragic accident.

Today, he relishes each day with his new forever companion, his dad’s sister Bobbie. The love and understanding between these two hangs in the air like glittering dust motes. Sharing their loss and celebrating the past, they wordlessly connect in companionable silence. These two know the true value of being grateful for what you have at the time, before things change forever.

In Bobbie’s own words, “He is a $38 brown dog from the pound to most, but to me, he is the absolute world and the last connection to my amazing brother.”

Our session at Bribie Island started off in some bushland, then moved to the beach, where we witnessed the strange phenomenon of blue skies in one direction and clouds and orange glow in the other. When we moved to Bongaree Jetty for the sunset, we were blessed with the most amazing sunset I’ve had the pleasure to witness for quite some time. Looking over the waters of Pumicestone Passage, it was almost impossible to tell where the water ended and the sky began – an orange, peach and yellow glow diffused the entire scene.

Mr Jay Brown loved the beach, padding around with his favourite little yellow ducky and truly enjoying life, just as he should.
