When you’re ready to book your session, fill out the booking request form and tell me your preferred date. Sessions take place in the late afternoon or early morning light – this ensures we make the most of that beautiful soft, warm and vibrant light my work in renowned for.
When you book, I’ll send you my Location Guide. Picturesque or interesting locations will really elevate your images, so spots like natural parks, beaches, foreshores or trendy urban areas are well worth the effort it takes to get there. I’m happy to recommend a location based on your pet’s personality and the final look you want to achieve.
Once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send through my Session Preparation Guide to help you prepare you and your dog for the big day.
I’ll warn you now – dog photography sessions are really just semi-organised chaos! I don’t have a concrete plan, I find it’s better to just go with what your dog gives us on the day. I generally encourage dogs to be natural and just do their doggy thing, but there are times during the session I will work with them directly.
We can work with your dog on or off lead. In fact, the vast majority of dogs you see in my portfolio had their leads edited out during post production!
Your job during the session? Just have fun and relax – dogs have an amazing ability to pick up on our emotions, so if you’re chill, they will be too.
For Deluxe Sessions, we’ll make a date to meet up at my consult room in Auchenflower for your Viewing and Ordering Session. This will usually be around two weeks after your photo session and is something everyone looks forward to!
Your full set of edited images will be available for viewing, along with a range of gorgeous high quality products. We’ll select your favourite images, discuss your requirements and create the perfect combo of products to suit your home and your budget.
For Bare Bones Sessions, let me know when you’re ready to order and I’ll upload your final images to a private online viewing and ordering gallery. You’ll have one week to make your selections and order.
If you’ve ordered a custom album, you can view your album design online and provide feedback to ensure it’s absolutely perfect. In most cases, clients love their initial design so much we can get straight onto placing the order.
Wall art and specialty products will be ordered within a few days of receiving full payment then your products will be ready for collection from my consult room around two weeks after ordering.
I’ll also send you a link to my online feedback form – I love hearing from happy customers and sharing your experiences on my website on social media!
I only offer only finished, ready to display products that you can start enjoying the day you pick them up. No need to organise framing or mounting.
Whether you order huge canvas of your best buddy’s infectious smile for the wall, a stunning high quality album to keep forever, or a gorgeous luminous acrylic block to perch on your desk at work, we can customise your order so you get exactly what’s important to you.
For full pricing, please get in touch and request a Product and Information Guide.
Even if he wasn’t my dog, I’d still hang those photos on my wall. They are just *that* good!
We came to Charlotte to capture photos of our Great Dane puppy while he was still small. The results were better than we could have imagined. She captured his true personality in absolutely stunning photographs.
– April Gynther (Torben)
Charlotte was committed to getting to know us during the session. It felt like we were chatting to an old friend.
Charlotte captured our Eevee exactly as we see her. Our photos were perfect, the session was unbelievable, and her understanding of animals is incredible! I can’t thank her enough.
– Chynna Martin (Eevee)
Charlotte explained exactly what to expect before, during and after the photo shoot, right down to last detail. I loved that!
My German Shepherd, Ben, and I had a great afternoon with Charlotte at Mitchelton. We got some amazing shots at the park and down in the creek nearby.
Straight away she makes you and your pet feel really comfortable so the pictures turn out amazing. I recommend Charlotte to every pet owner I know!
– Rachael Moore (Ben)
Getting the album was THE best thing I have ever done. Now all those great photos are in a precious book that I can keep for the rest of my life.
Charlotte is such a fantastic photographer! She captured my dog’s personalities beautifully in the Storybook Album – what a fantastic product! She is professional and super fun. Our dogs loved the session, too. Cannot recommend Charlotte’s services highly enough.
– Alyssa (Yogi & Moto)
Charlotte captured my best friend perfectly. I love that I now have beautiful, bright, fun-filled photos of him to last a lifetime!
Charlotte was an absolute pleasure to work with! I loved all of my beautiful products, they go beyond the quality you would expect from a professional photographer.
– Jacqui Faulkner (Marley)
I love the end products, the album especially. The layout is meticulously thought out and the photos on each page compliment one other perfectly.
Charlotte took every opportunity to get beautiful shots of my old Gidyea, even though she wasn’t very cooperative!
The acrylic block and wall art are just stunning. I’m so glad I’ll have these picture memories of my girl forever. She captured her character perfectly.
– Anja Schmidt (Gidyea)
If you have just one dog, you can get to north Brisbane for your session, you’re available on weekdays, you don’t mind ordering online and you definitely don’t want an album – then the Bare Bones Session will be perfect for you!
If you have two or more dogs, the Deluxe Session will give you a greater variety of images to choose from and the option to order one of my beautiful custom designed albums. You’ll also get more session location options and an in-person viewing session when your images are ready.
I often hear “however will I choose?” – but that’s exactly why I’m there when you view your images for the first time – I can help you go all #konmari on your image selections and by the end, you’ll be all, “Whoah, that was easier than I thought it would be!”
I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs at all levels of obedience (or in some cases, disobedience!). The number one thing we can do to make things easier for ourselves is choose a location with as few distractions as possible (I can help with this).
During the session, I use tons of tricks and techniques (and a bucketload of patience) to overcome any training issues your dog might have so we can still get a range of awesome shots.
Please don’t let your dog’s behaviour hold you back from booking a session. Relax, you’re in my capable and uber experienced hands!
Can I let you in on a little secret? The majority of dogs I photograph are actually on lead! I’ve got a bag o’ tricks up my sleeve to get great images while working with dogs on lead. Thanks to the magic of post production, the lead can be removed from images in a matter of minutes, leaving you with a gorgeous shot. No one will ever know a leash was ever there. Clever, huh?
Definitely! I love capturing the special bond between dogs and their people. You can choose to just be in the background or you can specify posed portraits. However, my favourite dog and owner photos are always those candid, natural moments.
Since I specialise in dog photography, my main focus will always be on my canine models and capturing the special bond between dog and owner. If you are looking for someone to take child or family portraits where the focus is primarily on the people, let me know and I can recommend an excellent portrait photographer in your area (often they’ll be able to include your dog in a few of the images as well).
I offer customised, interest-free payment plans on all product orders. You can select the start date and choose to pay an agreed amount per week, fortnight or month. There is no interest or fees added to your total, ever.
You’ll receive your products as soon as your order has been paid in full. You’re always welcome to make extra payments and get your products in your hands sooner!
If you’re not located within a few hours driving distance from Brisbane, get in touch to discuss, as I do, on occasion, travel Australia-wide when I have enough bookings in one city or area.
My studio is the great outdoors so in most cases, we’ll meet up at one of my never-fails-to-get-the-shot locations. Unless we need to shoot at your home due to your dog’s age, health or temperament. If that’s the case, I’ll come to you.
Beautiful locations enhance the look of your images, so I always love to shoot at picturesque parks, beaches, forests or maybe even a trendy urban area if that’s your scene and if your dog is cool with busy or distracting spots. When you book, I’ll send you my Location Guide so you can browse my selection of hand-picked locations.
I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way. If you need help deciding, I’ll work with you to determine the best location to suit your dog’s personality and temperament.
Deluxe Sessions include travel to locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area. For Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast locations, an additional $100 surcharge applies.
If you are located more than an hour away from central Brisbane, please get in touch and ask for a travel quote before booking.
Bare Bones Sessions are held in set locations around north Brisbane. Available options for Bare Bones Sessions are marked in the Location Guide.
Sure do! The majority of my clients are dogs but I also photograph other four legged friends – you’ll spot a few cats and horses in my portfolio, too.
A Deluxe Session includes three dogs and can accommodate up to four dogs. To include the fourth dog, just add $100 to the session fee. This allows for the extra time I spend shooting and editing. You’ll view approximately 20 extra images when you add an extra dog. If you have five or more dogs, please get in touch and I’ll provide a custom quote.
As soon as you’ve decided to go ahead with your booking, get in touch. I can take bookings up to six months in advance (and sometimes my waitlist can take that long so it’s always advisable to contact me as early as you can!).
The quality and style of my images relies on great natural sunlight. If the weather isn’t playing nice (not enough sunlight due to rain, heavy cloud, threat of storms or general unstable weather) we’ll probably need to reschedule to another, more suitable day.
The better the weather on the day aka, with lots of natural sunshine, calm conditions and limited cloud cover, the better your images will be.
My dog photography sessions are highly individualised experiences, so I prefer the dog owner to be fully informed about what’s involved and the investment before booking their session.
If you would like to gift a photography session to a friend or loved one, please request a full Product and Information Guide and discuss the idea with them first.
