If you’ve been following me for a while you might remember we used to have a little Jack Russell cross called Archie, who we lost to a tick a couple of years ago. He and Luna were best buddies and though she gets along fine with Araya the cat, who we adopted last year from Pets Without Partners, we’ve been wanting to add another dog to complete our furry family for a while now. I must admit I fell in love with the Australian Shepherd breed after photographing a few of them – I love their energy and sense of fun and adventure – their trainability and just how gorgeous they are in general!

As a pet photographer, most of my client bookings are from dog owners. I am not quite sure why this is, as I know there are many devoted cat owners out there! Perhaps people aren’t sure what’s possible when photographing cats? Perhaps they think they’re too hard to work with?

Deluxe Session ~ Albert, Grace & Ruby the Poodles in Brisbane

You’d never guess that Grace, Albert and Ruby are all well into their senior years – they have so much poise and not a smidgen of their age shows! Though Grace and Albert have been blessed with a life of luxury, Ruby was rescued from a puppy farm just a few years ago. I had a fantastic afternoon in the company of these lovely dogs (and their even lovelier mummy Kimbra).
