Dog Photos from Iceland Style Lab Retreat

I thought it was time to share few of my favourite images from this year's Style Lab Retreat in Iceland in September/October.

What an incredible landscape, so full of raw and rugged beauty! Seeing how the environment is still being sculpted day by day, it all felt so new, so alive. Such a contrast to the ancient, time-worn Australian landscape.

Our photography sessions took place against awe-inspiring backdrops: powerful waterfalls, surreal black sand beaches, a towering glacier, and the intriguing geology of lava fields.

The dedication of the dog models' owners was truly commendable and I can't thank them enough - they drove for hours, braved all kinds of weather and patiently accommodated our myriad requests as pet photographers.

But, it was all worthwhile.

I'm so proud of each of our 18 retreat attendees. Witnessing their creative journeys unfold amidst Iceland's splendour was an absolute privilege. It still amazes me that 12 people can be shooting the same locations, the same dogs and the same light - and still manage to all come up with their own unique visions. That is the unique thing about our Style Lab Retreats!

Teaching alongside the creative genius that is Craig from Furtography and Alicja Zmysłowska Photography is also a privilege that I will forever be grateful for. Seeing dogs in the landscape through their eyes is like looking through a window to an alternate reality and still blows my mind every time.

The landscape and weather took me well outside my normal photographic conditions, and I loved the challenge, pushing myself to create something very different to my normal work. Here’s a selection of the wonderful dogs we worked with.
