This was my first official session of the year here – meet Lulu! Only 5 months old, Lulu is a Dogue de Bordeaux cross and is Briana’s pride and joy. Her family has always had Mastiffs and when she saw Lulu’s litter she knew instantly Lulu was the one for her.

About a month after losing their family dog - a Mastiff / Bull Arab cross - Connie took her family to visit their local pet rescue shelter. Just for a look, of course! They ended up bringing home two 6 week old sibling foster pups. Benji’s sweet, happy and fun-loving temperament (along with his fat little roly-poly body and cute face) meant foster failure was inevitable.

Bare Bones Session ~ Riot the Bernese Mountain Dog in Brisbane

Riot is a Bernese Mountain Dog who, although just a youngster, is beautifully trained by his very proud mum and dad. Bonnie could quite possibly be the happiest dog I have ever photographed. She clearly loves life, her mum, the beach, and well… everything and everyone! Abandoned at eight years old and ending up at the RSPCA shelter in Alice Springs, Peta discovered her there and after a couple of visits, adopted her.

This one has been a long time in the planning with lots of re-scheduling due to weather, but we finally got it together and Mooky had his Bare Bones session at the Spit on the Gold Coast. Here’s what she had to say about Diesel in the questionnaire: “Diesel was one of the last puppies left in his litter and no one wanted him because he did not have a tail. When we first saw him we loved him and knew he had to be ours.”

Mickey is agisted in Samford in north west Brisbane on a beautiful horse property. We had access to a couple of different paddocks and spent the afternoon chasing him around, being chased, trying to keep Ruby out of the dam…

Pappy is a super adorable Corgi cross, much loved by his mum Louise. We met at a lovely park in south east Brisbane with lots of space for Pappy to explore – he spent much time sniffing around! Lucky we had some liver treats on hand (his absolute favourite) to lure him back into posing nicely for us.

Client Session ~ Juno the Border Collie in Brisbane

The littlest Border Collie puppy huddled in the corner, making herself as small as possible to avoid notice by her litter mates. Why oh why did they pick on her so much? Suddenly, she was plucked from the enclosure and sensing her newfound safety, immediately snuggled into the loving arms of her new mum and dad.

Model Session ~ Phoenix the Staffy Mix in Brisbane

I was still rubbing sleep from my eyes when I turned up at New Farm Park at 5am to be greeted by this eternally happy face! Butt wiggling, Phoenix immediate stuck her face in my bag of goodies and proceeded to check out the treats and toys within while leaning heavily against me and revelling in pats and scratches. I suspected from this moment this girl would be heaps of fun to photograph!

Golden Retrievers rank very highly on my list of favourite breeds. They always have the loveliest temperaments, with that perfect mix of fun, goofy and when they get older; chilled and wise. At eight months old on the day of our shoot, Bam Bam was at that awkward stage between puppy and adult – just starting to look like an adult but still with a lot of puppy silliness!

Travel Session ~ Cocoa & Bella the Toy Poodles in Canberra

Amber first contacted me back in 2010 to enquire about a photo session in Sydney. Three years later, everything finally came together when I visited Canberra. Amber and her husband Daniel along with their two Toy Poodles Cocoa and Bella trundled into the car and made the trek for their session.
